Privacy policy

This policy describes how we handle personal data when you browse or interact with the public Businext marketing site. Using the Businext product itself is governed by separate agreements and product terms.

Who we are

The website businext.store (the “Site”) is operated by Businext and its affiliates (collectively, “Businext,” “we,” or “us”). For privacy requests relating to this Site, contact privacy@businext.store.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal data we process through the Site — for example when you submit the contact form, subscribe to updates if we offer them, or when standard web technologies generate technical data as you browse.

It does not cover third-party sites we link to, or data processed inside the signed-in Businext application; those flows are covered by the relevant product terms and notices.

Personal data we collect

You provide: name, email address, business type, and message content when you use our contact form; any other information you voluntarily include in that message.

Automatically: technical data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps — typical of how websites are delivered and secured. If you or we enable analytics or similar tools, aggregated or pseudonymous usage statistics may also be collected in line with their configurations.

How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • respond to inquiries and operate the contact channel;
  • maintain the security, availability, and performance of the Site;
  • understand aggregate interest in Businext and improve messaging and UX;
  • comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the contact form to send unrelated marketing unless you have opted in where required by law.

Lawful grounds (Nigeria Data Protection Act and related rules)

Where Nigerian law applies — including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) where still relevant, and guidance from the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) — we process personal data only when a lawful basis exists. Depending on context, we rely on performance of a contract or steps at your request (for example responding to your inquiry), legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Site, balanced against your rights), legal obligation, and consent where required (for example certain marketing or non-essential cookies).

If you are outside Nigeria, other laws (such as the GDPR) may also apply; we aim to meet our obligations in those jurisdictions where we are subject to them.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or local storage for essential Site functions (for example security, load balancing, or remembering preferences such as theme). If we add non-essential cookies, we will describe them here and, where required, obtain consent before they run.

How we share personal data

We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions — for example hosting providers, email delivery (such as Resend), and analytics vendors if enabled. They may only use data to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.

We may disclose data if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect Businext, users, or the public.

International transfers

We may process and store data outside your country (for example with hosting, email delivery, or analytics providers). Where Nigerian law applies, we put in place appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers as required by the NDPA and NDPC guidance (which may include consent, adequacy assessments, contractual clauses, or other recognised mechanisms). Where other countries’ laws apply, we use safeguards required by those laws.

Retention

We keep contact submissions long enough to respond, follow up, and maintain a reasonable business record unless a longer period is required by law. Technical logs are retained for security and troubleshooting for a limited period defined by our infrastructure providers and internal policies.

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit where supported, access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

Under Nigerian law, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to certain processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). If you live elsewhere, similar rights may exist under local law (for example with a data protection authority in your region).

To exercise rights, email privacy@businext.store. We may need to verify your request.

Children

The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in a way that conflicts with the NDPA, the Child Rights Act where applicable, or other Nigerian requirements for minors’ data.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do; material changes may be highlighted on the Site or communicated where appropriate.
